Paris Couture Week is one of the most anticipated events of the fashion season, and GEORGES HOBEIKA’s show is right up there with the most eagerly anticipated shows. The designer and his son Jad, co-creative director of the Maison, always deliver Haute Couture in its most ravishing opulence.

Yesterday the father-son duo released their Autumn Winter 2023 collection theme Un Reve, which translates to A Dream. The collection follows the themes of a dream, giving way to the power of imagination, self confidence, and femininity.

The show began with a delicate white and silver sheer gown. While white played a dominant part in the shows beginning, the color palette changed to pastel pink and different hues of blue. “This collection was imagined to celebrate hope and optimism,” Hobeika said in the show notes. “We have chosen soft colours and fluid silhouettes that evoke joy, gentleness, and freedom.”

Silk, organza, duchess satin, and crepe chiffon all serve as main characters in Hobeika’s story of a dream. Materials of texture – feathers, crystals, and pearls give the collection an added edge providing the flamboyance and richness of an haute couture collection.

The collection is complimented with accessories in the form of winged earrings, tulip belts, and silver shoes, while the dragonfly serves as an important symbol in the form of accessories and on the clothing itself.

For menswear, the Hobeika’s delivered well-tailored oversized coats, and capes in colour with detailed embroidery, bringing to life the silhouette of Greek Gods.

It would not be a Hobeika collection if it did not feature bridal gowns now, would it? For their bridal collection, the Hobeika duo crafted precise gowns donned in matte embroidery – playing into the power of dreams.
