Zuhair Murad Embodies an Unwavering Power of Nature in Fall/Winter 2024 Couture Collection
- Nada Armanious
Zuhair Murad showcased his magical Fall/Winter 2024/2025 couture collection at Haute Couture Week in Paris, embodying the power of nature. The House highlights nature’s inspiring, unwavering power to survive, standing tall and metamorphosing as individuals think her wounded, broken, fragile, or lost. She stands steady with no weapons as she burns, and nothing stops her.

Zuhair Murad’s woman embodies this beautiful nature: like the forests that burn and rise from their ashes, like wounded lionesses bearing their scars and roaming the savannah. It is an undeniably awe-inspiring characteristic to embody, and the House captured this fierceness in a collection of breathtaking pieces.

The pieces exuded resilience through embroideries tracing past pains, splits and edges conveying scars, reimagined animal prints elevating sensuality and camouflage – the instinct for survival, 3D smoke spirals from bottom to top emulating a barely tamed fire, and more. Here and there, Zuhair Murad designs bullet impacts, shattered mirrors, and oversized fingerprints.

Ranging from flesh tones, incarnadine to red, or feline hues of brownish-orange, black, and grays, the palette aligned beautifully with the message. Materials included silk dupion, chiffon, satin, crêpe candy, embroidered tulle, velvet, and jersey.
