Bottega Veneta’s Bottega for Bottegas 2024: A Tribute to Venetian Artisanship
- Nada Armanious
Bottega Veneta presents its exciting seasonal celebration, Bottega for Bottegas, honoring artisans in and around Venice, Italy, for the fourth consecutive year. Paying homage to the House’s Venetian roots, this year’s edition spotlights six small-scale artisans from the Venice region, showcasing their exceptional craftsmanship.
Throughout December, Bottega Veneta’s website, advertising spaces, newsletters, and store windows will feature brass objects by Fonderia Artistica Valese, a wooden puzzle by Signor Blum, a set of playing cards in a leather case by Modiano, and stunning glass creations by Laguna~B, Bruno Amadi, and Wave Murano Glass.
Each artisan brings a unique tribute to Venetian artistry. Signor Blum’s wooden block puzzle captures the essence of Venetian architecture, while Modiano’s playing cards feature the Trevigiane deck, also known as the Venetian or Veneto deck. Fonderia Artistica Valese presents a brass winged lion, a symbol of Venice since the 12th century, alongside a brass fero representing the city’s three main islands. Meanwhile, Murano glass innovators embrace the centuries-old tradition of Venetian glassmaking with bold new patterns, shapes, and techniques.
This beautiful initiative reflects Bottega Veneta’s enduring commitment to supporting small-scale artisans. Bottega for Bottegas first launched in 2021 to aid artisans impacted by the pandemic and continues to champion the preservation of craft and heritage.
