A landmark signing between Misr Italia Properties (MIP), People & Places (P&P), and Marriott International has marked one of the largest hospitality agreements announced in Egypt in recent years, bringing together two of the country’s leading developers with the world’s largest hotel company to expand hospitality across key destinations nationwide.

Signed during a ceremony at the Government Headquarters in New Alamein City, the agreement formalizes a portfolio of 1,839 hospitality keys, including 809 hotel rooms and 1,030 branded residences, across Ras El Hekma, Sphinx, New Cairo, New Capital and the Red Sea. The developments will introduce seven Marriott International brands, including The Ritz-Carlton, Marriott International’s most luxurious brand, alongside The Luxury Collection, making its debut in Egypt for the first time, Autograph Collection, Westin Hotels & Resorts and Marriott Executive Apartments. The portfolio forms part of a broader hospitality strategy backed by EGP 33 billion in total partnership investments.

More than a partnership announcement, the signing represents a significant milestone in the long-term hospitality ambitions of Misr Italia Properties and People & Places. Together, the companies are expanding beyond residential real estate to build integrated destinations that combine hospitality, lifestyle and mixed-use developments under globally recognized brands.

The Marriott agreement forms the cornerstone of a broader hospitality strategy that aims to deliver 21 hotels and serviced residences by 2032, representing 3,214 hospitality keys and EGP 56.7 billion in total hospitality investments. Looking further ahead, the portfolio is expected to grow to 50 hospitality assets by 2037, positioning the two developers among Egypt’s largest hospitality players.

For Marriott International, the signing reinforces its continued confidence in Egypt’s tourism market and long-term growth potential. Rather than focusing on a single destination, the partnership spans both urban centers and coastal developments, reflecting increasing demand for premium hospitality experiences across the country.

The agreement also aligns with Egypt’s wider tourism and economic development goals. The planned projects are expected to create approximately 6,000 direct and indirect jobs while accommodating around 373,000 visitors annually, contributing to the country’s efforts to expand premium accommodation capacity and attract greater international investment.

Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the signing brought together government officials and industry leaders, highlighting the growing collaboration between the public and private sectors in shaping Egypt’s next phase of tourism development.

For Misr Italia Properties and People & Places, the Marriott International signing is more than the addition of another global brand to their portfolio. It establishes a long-term strategic partnership that strengthens their position within Egypt’s evolving hospitality landscape while reinforcing the country’s growing appeal as a destination for tourism and international investment.
