Gucci Pays Tribute to its Heritage with Cruise 2026 Collection
- Nada Armanious
Gucci takes us back to its roots, Italian glamour, for this Cruise 2026 Collection and it’s just what the fashion climate needs right now. The collection was presented in Florence, where the brand first started in 1921. It took place at the historic 15th-century Palazzo Settimanni, Gucci’s original workshop and now its archive.

This collection drew deeply from the brand’s archives. We saw rich fabrics such as barocades, jacquards, silks, and velvets. Design elements included diamanté-spangled tights, oversized fur coats, and vintage-inspired ensembles, alluding perfectly to both the brand’s heritage and forward-looking vision.

One of the show’s highlights was definitely the debut of the Giglio bag, named after the Italian word for lily, a symbol of Florence. This oversized, versatile tote was styled as a fold-over clutch. The brand describes it as a tribute to the House’s roots with a focus on continuity and reinvention and has made it available immediately after the show, both online and at Gucci’s Florence flagship store.
